FAQs

Q:After I place my order, how long until it arrives?

A:Our average ETA is currently 3-6 business days, however shipping carriers are experiencing capacity issues from extremely high demand + COVID-19 impact, and in some cases deliveries may be delayed.

----------

Q:What shipping carriers do you use?

A:Fedex, UPS, and USPS.

----------

Q:Tracking is not showing any movement for my order, what does this mean?

A:Shipping carriers are experiencing surge demand in the US due to high demand and COVID-19 and we have seen an increase in tracking scan issues, where shipments are picked up from warehouses by the shipping carrier, but tracking labels are not correctly scanned upon pickup by the carrier. Our shipping carriers are working to eliminate tracking issues and delivery delays.

Q: Can I run my LIMICAR light with a 14 volt A\/C signal?

A: No. The LIMICAR lights were designed for DC voltage. Lights operated at 14 volt A\/C may not be damaged, but could flicker or appear dim.

----------

Q: Can I run my LIMICAR light in an A\/C wall outlet?

A: No! LIMICAR lights are designed for DC voltage. Connection to an A\/C wall outlet will very likely permanently damage the light.

----------

Q: I connected my light to my car and it doesn't work. Now what?

A: Several items could be preventing the lights from properly working. The below items can help in troubleshooting. Try connecting the wires of the lights directly to a fully charged car battery. If the light works then there is a problem between the battery connection and the light. Potential problems include a faulty switch, faulty relay, insufficient thickness wire, and improper grounding.

----------

Q: When i connect my light directly to my battery, it is at full brightness. But when i use a long cable to install it, the light is dim. What is wrong?

A: You need to make sure you are using an appropriately sized gauge wire for your installation. This is especially important if using a long wire from the battery to the light installation. If the wire gauge is too small, there will be a significant voltage drop across the wire, preventing the light from powering up fully.

Q: Are trailer light kits simple to install?

A: Installing a trailer light kit is nothing like replacing the batteries in your TV remote. It is a complicated process that requires you to consider many electrical factors, drill multiple holes and do many other things. In this light, we recommend that you hire field experts to assist you in successfully installing your trailer lights. However, if you want to DIY it, you can easily follow the steps in the manufacturer's guide or search for solutions online.

----------

Q: What are the colors of trailer lights?

A: Trailer lights can come in various colors, depending on their type and location. Rear-facing clearance lights, for example, are red, whereas side marker lights are amber.

----------

Q: How much do trailer light kit cost?

A: You can find trailer lights in various packages, each with different types and qualities of light and other components. However, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get the best trailer light kits. These accessories typically cost between $10 and $80, which is a fair price range for you to find a model that meets your needs.

----------

Q:Does trailer lights have fuse?

A:If you're problem was turn signals then simply look for the trailer RT or LT fuse and simply replace if needed. This will solve the problem of brake lights also, as they are the same fuse.

----------

Q: How trailer lights work?

A:How Your Trailer Lights Work. Trailer wiring consists of a plug connected to the tow vehicle's lighting circuitry, a matching connector on the trailer, a wiring harness that runs the length of the trailer frame and a variety of stop, tail, turn signal and side marker lights around the trailer's perimeter.

----------

Q:What are trailer clearance lights?

A:The clearance lights indicate the width of the trailer when it is viewed from the front and the back. To properly indicate the width of the back of a trailer, 1 rear clearance light is required at each side on the back of the trailer at the trailer's widest point.

----------

Q:How to put new lights on a trailer?

A:Rewiring a Trailer in 8 Simple Steps
1.Sketch a trailer wiring diagram.
2.Remove the old trailer lights and wiring.
3.Lay out the new wiring.
4.Mount the ground wire.
5.Install the marker lights.
6.Clip the wires onto the frame.
7.Install the taillights.
8.Test the trailer lights.

----------

Q:Where to ground trailer lights?

A:Make sure white ground wire on main trailer plug is making good contact to the trailer's tongue. Also both tail lights have a white ground wire which must also make good contact to the trailer's metal tail light bracket. Clearance lights with single wires must be anchored directly into a metal fender bracket.

----------

Q:Why trailer lights wont work?

A:Checking and replacing bulbs may be all that is required, but if not, you'll need to look at the wiring. Many trailer problems are due to a poor grounding connection, which is usually the white wire coming out of the trailer plug. If the ground is poor, lights may work intermittently or not at all.

----------

Q:Why trailer lights are dim?

A:Most often the root cause for issues with trailer lighting is a weak ground. Strange as it may sound, a loose or rusty/corroded ground can cause a vehicle's trailer wiring harness to badly misbehave and shut down some functions.

----------

Q:Why do trailer lights need to be grounded?

A:Without them grounded, you'll get all sorts of wierd effects resulting from back feeding via the other trailer and vehicle lights! Most such lights depend on having a frame ground to return current on.

----------

Q:Why trailer brake lights not working?

A:Poor plug contact may cause trailer tail lights not working. Corrosion, debris, and oxidation can all prevent clean contact between the plug and socket connection. For best results, use a small needle file set to clean all the the connection points inside the trailer plug.

----------

Q:Why trailer running lights not working?

A:What do you do if the trailer running lights are not working? First, check the wiring leading to the trailer lights using a light tester to see if its connected properly. A voltmeter will show if there's a connection between the trailer and the receiver. You might have to remove blockages so electricity can flow.

----------

Q:What does the trailer light mean?

A:The trailer tow hitch light is designed to warn you when there is an issue with your car's tow hitch, possibly that it is unlocked.
